Soffit Repair & Replacement in Fort Myers, Naples & Cape Coral
Soffit is the panel on the underside of your roof overhang. It closes off the roof edge, keeps out wind-driven rain, birds and critters, and on most homes it lets your attic breathe. When a storm blows panels out or water rots what’s behind them, your attic is open to the weather.
The Brothers That Just Do Gutters repair and replace soffit across Lee and Collier counties, in vinyl or aluminum, vented or solid, with new J-channel and aluminum fascia wrap to finish the roof edge.
We’re veteran-owned and state-licensed (CBC1270165), and our own crews do every job.

QUICK ANSWER
Should I replace my soffit with vented or solid panels?
Most homes need vented soffit along the eaves so air can flow into the attic and out through the roof vents, which keeps the attic cooler and drier. Solid soffit is used where venting isn’t needed or isn’t wanted. We look at how your home is vented and match it, in white vinyl, or aluminum in white or bronze.

Full soffit replacement
Old, stained or sagging soffit replaced all the way around the house.
Vinyl or aluminum
White vinyl soffit, or aluminum soffit in white or bronze.
Vented or solid
Perforated soffit where your attic needs airflow, solid panels where it doesn’t.
J-channel
New J-channel where the soffit meets the wall and fascia, so the panels sit straight and the edges are sealed.
Fascia wrap
Replacing soffit often means re-doing the fascia wrap too. We handle both so the roof edge matches.
WHEN TO REPLACE
Signs your soffit needs work
Take a look under the roof overhang for:
- Missing or loose panels, especially after a storm.
- Sagging or wavy soffit that’s pulled away from the wall or fascia.
- Stains or peeling that point to water getting in.
- Birds, wasps or critters going in and out of the roof edge.
- A hot, stuffy attic, which can mean the soffit vents are blocked or missing.
Any of these is worth a look before rainy season or the next storm.
WHAT WE INSTALL

- White vinyl soffit
- Aluminum soffit in white or bronze

THE LICENSE GAP
Only 12 of 91 gutter companies in Southwest Florida hold a Florida contractor’s license

“Licensed and insured” isn’t a license number
Almost every contractor says it. Very few can show you a state number. A city or county business tax receipt is just a tax registration: no exam, no insurance check, no bond. Only a state license from the Florida DBPR authorizes gutter installation.
Why it matters to you:
- Insurance. If an unlicensed contractor’s work causes damage, your carrier can dispute the claim.
- Liability. Unlicensed crews often carry no workers’ comp. If someone falls off your roof, that can land on you.
- Warranty. An unlicensed contractor’s contract can’t be enforced, so the warranty is worth nothing.
- No safety net. Florida’s Homeowners’ Construction Recovery Fund only covers work by licensed contractors.
CHECK ANY CONTRACTOR IN 15 SECONDS
- Ask for the state license number, not a business tax receipt.
- Search it at myfloridalicense.com under “Verify a Licensee.”
- Make sure it says Current, Active, and the name matches the company on your estimate.

WHY IT MATTERS
Soffit, fascia and gutters work together
The roof edge is one system. Gutters catch the water, the fascia holds the gutters, and the soffit closes off the overhang and vents the attic. When gutters overflow, water soaks the fascia and runs into the soffit. When soffit fails, storms push rain into the attic.
That’s why we look at all three at once, and why one crew handling the whole roof edge gets you a better result than three different contractors.

Soffit questions, answered
What is soffit?
Soffit is the panel on the underside of the roof overhang, between the edge of the roof and the wall of the house.
Vinyl or aluminum soffit?
Both work well in Southwest Florida. Vinyl is a common, budget-friendly choice in white. Aluminum comes in white or bronze and is very durable. We’ll show you both at the estimate.
Do I need vented soffit?
Most homes need vented soffit along the eaves so air can move through the attic. We match how your home is vented, and use solid panels where venting isn’t needed.
Can you replace just a few damaged panels?
Yes. We can replace a section, like storm-damaged panels in one corner, or do the whole house.
Will new soffit match my old soffit?
New panels are brighter than soffit that’s been weathering for years, especially in white. If you’re only replacing a section, we’ll tell you up front how close the match will be.
Should I do soffit and fascia before new gutters?
Yes, if you can. Soffit and fascia sit behind the gutter, so doing them first, or at the same time, avoids taking new gutters down later.
Do you replace fascia too?
Yes. We replace rotted fascia and install aluminum fascia wrap, and we often do both with soffit so the roof edge matches.
Does a gutter company need a license in Florida?
Yes. Installing gutters for pay in Florida requires a state contractor’s license from the DBPR. A city or county business tax receipt is not a contractor’s license. Ask for the number and look it up at myfloridalicense.com. Ours is CBC1270165.
